Golden Globes Fashion

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's the beginning of awards season and this little blogger couldn't be happier. As I told Claire last night, the only thing that trumps watching Red Carpet coverage is food and that is exactly the reason why I missed half of the pre-show, but come on people, who in the world would pass up Moe's burritos when given the opportunity? No one.

There were a ton of dresses to pick from last night, but these are my absolute faves. As the night went on, it was apparent that there were certain trends. Lots of black dresses, lots of nudes/pale tones, lots of emerald greens, and lots and lots of glitter. So in no particular order, here are my top picks.

Starting off with Anne Hathaway in Armani Privé. I loved this look on her. Not only was the dress extremely flattering on her, but they styled her right with little jewelry and simple hair. It really let this beautiful dress shine. Not pictured is also the amazing plunging back on this dress.

I love me some Lea Michele. And Lea Michele loves her some Oscar de la Renta. This is the third award show that she's gone with one of his beautiful designs and I think this is my favorite yet. The color really shows off her bubbly persona and the cut of the dress is fun and young while still being dressy enough for an Awards show.

Shock and dismay! Alert the press! Angelina Jolie isn't wearing black!!! I really don't like Angelina Jolie, but I have to give major props to this Atelier Versace dress. The color is so beautiful on it's own (and was very popular last night), but is amazing on her too. Also, I love how blatantly 80's this is. Hey, Angelina- The wardrobe stylist from Dynasty called and they need that dress back by Monday.

Ok. Be still my soul. Olivia Wilde was such a show stopper in Marchesa. When done right, I'm always a fan of the traditional ball gown and this was no exception. Maybe because it's just so beautiful and maybe because I look at it and know how time consuming and meticulously put together this dress is. Working with toulle is one of the most complicated things to do and then throwing hundreds of hand beaded rhinestones on top of it?! Bravo, Marchesa. Bravo.

LOVED this Calvin Klein dress on Emma stone. In photographs, she does look a bit too orange and she may wanted to have consider toning it down on the spray tan, but I loved the simplicity of this dress and, again, the styling that went with it. Her hair and accessories completed a look that say young and fresh which is exactly what she should be doing with her style right now.
(Honorable mention to Claire Danes who also happened to kill it this year in Calvin Klein.)

My worst dressed list: Julianne Moore in Lanvin, J. Lo and her ridiculous cape in Zuhair Murad and Scarlett Johansson's bride of Frankenstein hair.
