Rachel Antonoff

Really love this video by Lena Dunham for Rachel Antanoff's Fall 13 collection. So creative and so funny.

That is all the blogging my fingers can muster during a time as physically and mentally gelatinous as Spring Break.

Going back into my hole now.

I've Turned a Corner

I've turned a corner. Or maybe, I've climbed the hill. And you know what happens after you climb a hill, right? YOU CARTWHEEL ALL THE FREAKING WAY BACK DOWN! As I'm sure you are aware, today is Tuesday which is only one day from Wednesday which means that Thursday comes after that and then I'm done I'm done I'm done! I'm at that magical stage that I love oh so much where projects quit being works in progress and start being done! Like forever. Like tag 'em up. Like box 'em out. Like ship 'em out! Can my joy be contained? No! I mean, I'm listening to a playlist called "Walking on Sunshine" ... this should explain everything.

In case you want to get in on this action, press play.

What?

Remember when you were a kid, like a little, little kid and you were learning how to function? And you'd be in kindergarden and you'd play games like what things start with the letter B? Or name things that are purple. Or what sound does a goat make? Well, the system is broken because I don't know about you, but at my school, they told me the correct answer for that last question is "baahhhhhhh."

That is not the correct answer. Or maybe it was the correct answer, but now, there are these super fancy Goats 4S that are making new sounds and turning into humans. Very loud humans.

Chanel

I've watched this video about a dozen times already and I'll probably watch it a dozen more. And so far every time the video finishes, I find my jaw wide open in utter respect and amazement at such a strong dedication to craftsmanship. If you ever have wondered what excited me personally about fashion, watch this video and then you'll see.

Every bead, every petal... wow.

Let me repeat: R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Midnight

Watching this video at nine o'clock yesterday morning made starting to bake a loaf a of bread at 9:04 sound like a good idea.

And it made listening to Patsy Cline while my loaf was baking really easy.

And then eating the bread on the porch at midnight taste so good.

Tarter Sauce

I've been MIA for the last little bit because I was on vacation with my family (more on that later), so to ease myself back into this week, I'm going to watch this video about 40 more times.

Tard, I feel ya. Let's just deal with this Monday together, Ok?

NYFW

Due to an unfortunate lack of internet for the last week or so, I feel that I have majorly dropped the ball when it comes to my New York Fashion Week blog coverage.

So unfortunate.

And the idea of trying to recap the last two weeks in just one post simply does not feel like it would do the months and months of work of these designers enough justice.

So, I bring you the compromise. This video follows one of my favorite designer's, Diane Von Furstenburg, in a way so backstage and personal that you are literally seeing the whole experience through her eyes (thanks to some very Stockholm-y looking glasses).

Pretty cool right?

Olivia

IT IS HERE.

As I mentioned the other day, I finally sat down with Olivia to ask her a few questions, have a ball of laughs and complete what has come to be one of my absolute favorite things I've ever done on this blog-- the getting to know you interviews.

As you all can probably tell by any of my blogging having to do with roommates so far this year, Olivia is the absolute best. Even though her moving in with us was pretty much the start of our friendship, I literally already have grown so close to her and cannot imagine this year without her. Olivia is an insanely talented artist, terribly smart and a positively kind person.

I'm going to stop myself before I make the video completely pointless and give all the spoilers away, but let me just give a quick shout out to her budding photography skillz because you should all go check out her Flickr to see how legit she is-- and to get a good laugh at me trying to channel my inner faery (Didn't you hear? I'm a model now).

Oh! And also-- let me just make a quick comment on the length of the videos. Sometimes, when people come up to me on the street and recognize me from the blog I make my friends watch the videos I make, one of their first questions is why in the world is this video so stankin long? Well, young squire, my answer is this: Because I like it that way. When these videos are first recorded they sometimes are up to an hour long (you know how girls are-- we just can't seem to stop gabbing about makeup and boys and cleaning supplies and what not). That means I have to cut out 45 WHOLE MINUTES of interview gold to really get down to the real hard hitting stuff that interview legends are made of. Therefore, a 15 minute video is really like a small glimpse in comparison to what I could be making you losers watch. Basically, what I'm trying to say is... be grateful. And just watch the whole thing! Everything Olivia says is super interesting, I promise. And if not for her, watch it for the eye candy on the left. I hear she's single and ready to mingle.
