Haiku #9

Spring Break
Packing up my skirts
I'm heading across the sky
The most home I'll know

Going home! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait!

Haiku #8

New York City
We have a rich past,
You and I. Love, fear, growth, time.
Let's start this again.

An announcement: I will be, once again, spending this summer in New York City. Interning here and here. Barely scratching the surface, I am feeling... excited, nervous, anxious, curious and did I say excited already? To say that I will be writing more about this in the coming months would be the worlds grandest understatement.

Haiku #7

Solstice
Fire breaths dry me out
Singe me down and bare it all
Living room solstice

Thank you.

Haiku #6

A belated Friday Haiku inspired by this morning's war with coffee.

You hurt me, but I love you Still
Vanilla Latte
Stomach twists and jittery taps
I'll never give up

Thank you.

Haiku #5

Thanks Giving
Pull it out of me
And tell me to be grateful
I'll blush and wonder

Thank you.

Haiku #4

18 Hours:
Road trip, Oh, Road trip
Hustle our little bustles
Up before the sun

Thank you.

Haiku #3

Post Election Blues
Hot tea scorched my tongue.
Obama, do you hear that?
This is all your fault.

Thank you.

Haiku #2

Charlotte
Something changed the air
Freezing, I'm thrilled to the bone
Charlotte, warm our buns!

Thank you.

Haiku #1

Some of you may know that Haikus are my all time favorite form of poetry and, in my opinion, quite possibly the best form of communication in general.

Today marks the beginning of a new Bushka tradition that I would like to call Friday Haiku Days with Julia where on Fridays, she writes Haikus.* I will, as explained, write a personal narrative Haiku which will also be accompanied by a photo that may or may not have to do with the Haiku du jour.

So, let's begin:

Have you seen the chips?
Nobody eats my cookies
Baked fresh, all alone

Thank you.

*Willing to negotiate on the name. Get at me if you have any suggestions.
